Ruston is the most dreamy spot for a weekend trip. We may be biased, but we feel as though our charming city has something for any type of traveler.

We have created an itinerary for those who have come to Ruston ready to shop til they drop.

Eat

Kick the weekend off with a trip to Board and Bottle downtown. They serve delicious coffee, along with scones, and other tasty breakfast or lunch options. The cozy and eclectic atmosphere is a perfect place to visit with friends and plan out your weekend activities. Once you’re caffeinated, head out to explore charming Downtown Ruston.

Take a short walk across the tracks to Uptown Downtown for lunch and treats. From light wraps to specialty grilled cheese sandwiches, their menu has something that is sure to hit the spot.

Go ahead and break out one of the new outfits you bought for dinner and drinks at Trio’s, known for their Mediterranean-inspired menu and gourmet specials. In addition to an impressive menu, Trio's also offers a fantastic bar that serves beer, wine, and specialty cocktails.

While you’re in Bulldog country be sure to get yourself some official Louisiana Tech Merch from FanBase. Make your way over to Lauren Roebuck Designs to find some art, furniture or decor to bring back home with you. Be sure to carve out a few minutes to stop and do a mini photoshoot in front of one of downtown’s colorful murals.

Before you leave town be sure to check out The Bulldog Project, a public art installation that consists of 22 large bulldog statues each designed by a local artist. These eye-catching bulldogs are located throughout Ruston, which makes for a fun scavenger hunt with friends or family! Be sure to snap a photo at each bulldog and share your adventure on social media using #TheBulldogProject.

Shops for Her:

Ruston’s walkable downtown is the ideal place to shop and stroll. Some of the must-visit shops include Boutique Barr, Chartreuse Pear, The Collective, and The Fashion.

Shops for Him:

For all things western, sports, and outdoors head to 5.11 Tactical, Patton's Western, or McKinney Outdoor Superstore.

Shops for Kids:

All located in Downtown Ruston, these shops are sure to have the cutest outfits and toys for the little ones: Garden Baby, The Children's Shoppe, and Peach Lemonade.

Shops for Everyone:

From vintage records to one of a kind finds, you can find it all at No. 9 Books & Records, Oliver & Grace, and Park Haus.

Lastly, make sure to stop by the Farmers Market for all things fresh. The market is open year-round every Saturday from 9:00am-1:00pm. This open-air market features fresh produce, eggs, jams, salsas, baked goods and other locally-made items.
